Creating Opportunities has been developed to inspire young dancers with knowledge, tips, information and feedback so they can expand their opportunities as a dancer in the industry. This workshop is given to dancers by dancers and choreographers who have experienced the world of dance firsthand and are aware of the pitfalls, the do’s and don’ts, and how to make this industry work for them…. powerfully!

MEET THE CREATORS

 

Lisette Bustamante

From Justin to Janet, Usher to Madonna….she’s worked side by side with them all. Lisette grew up in a house full of music and dance where she inherited her passion for the performing arts. At 17,fresh out of high school, Lisette Bustamante began her career touring as a dancer with the hottest names in the music business. Working with the likes of Aaliyah, Missy Elliot, and Gwen Stefani, she became one of the most recognizable dancers on MTV. Lisette has appeared not only in music videos but also in major television and film projects and has been featured in commercials for GAP, PEPSI, PRINGLES, SPRITE AND IPOD just to name a few.

Gaining so much experience at a very young age, Lisette naturally transitioned into the world of choreography and artistic direction and began lending her creative talents to artists Pink, Prince,Jennifer Lopez, Macy Gray and Britney Spears along side her longtime friend and choreography partner Chonique Sneed.

She was given the opportunity to artistic co-direct Paulina Rubio’s “Pau-Latina” world tour and then began working with Paulina as her main creative contributor. Making an impact in the Latin music market with her creative work with Paulina, Lisette was hired to be the artistic director for the 2005 Latin Grammy Awards.

In 2006, Lisette began diving into another realms of the music business, music video direction. Having directed 6 music videos to date from dancehall artists, to r&b/ hip hop artists, she’s able to capture the artist and their music and express it visually, with an edge. She has also choreographed, assisted and consulted on numerous television commercials, award shows and international and national tours.

Lisette also created a career for herself as a recording artist and her song,  "I Bittersweet” was well received and got major radio play in Toronto, Canada as well as the underground club scene. To date her most recognizable work in music is the single, "Pop, Drop and Roll" that she co-wrote and performed with her creative partner Chonique Sneed and was featured on "So You Think You Can Dance".

Currently, you can catch Lisette touring the states and internationally, as one of the most sought after dance educators and mentors who brings inspiration to who her students. She is currently a faculty member of Artists Simply Human and Monsters of Hip Hop and works with various studios around the country choreographing and helping others achieve their goals. Her philosophy is,"There is no dream too big for you not to follow..reach for the stars!"

 

Chonique Sneed

ChoniqueChonique began her entertainment career at the young age of 8. A Los Angeles native, born in the center of Hollywood, she started her performance journey as a child actress with a background in Musical Theater. She began her career working on commercials, kid variety specials, and TV shows. Having a natural ability and skill in dance, she went on to dance in movies, world tours, and music videos and worked with artists such as Missy Elliott, Eve, Gwen Stefani, P-Diddy, & Janet Jackson.

Chonique has been a contributing choreographer for artists such as Missy Elliot, Christina Milian, Britney Spears, Pink, Jennifer Lopez, to name a few. She also worked as a Choreographer and Casting Consultant for "America's Best Dance Crew" for Season 5, 6 & 7. She has traveled around the world teaching Master Classes and Workshops including Tokyo, Sweden, Toronto, and London.

Chonique is also no stranger to the music scene; releasing singles on ITunes in between her breaks, with one song “Pop Drop & Roll” featured & named Audience Favorite on the hit show “So You Think You Can Dance”!

As a faculty member of Monsters of Hip Hop dance convention, Chonique organically emerged back on the music scene and released the conventions FIRST DEBUT SINGLE “Let it go”.

Chonique is also co-founder of the Artist/Dancer mentorship program “Creating Opportunities” known as “Creating Opps”, with her business partner Lisette Bustamante. Chonique is a Creator & performer who leaves her audience and community with inspiration, confidence and new ways to develop themselves as artists & Individuals.
